NEW FACULTIES TO SUPPORT THE ACCOUNTING INDUSTRY
NIA新成员支持会计业工作
The National Institute of Accountants has launched four faculties that will tiliseprofessional expertise to identify and respond to local and global issues in the accounting profession.
澳大利亚国家会计师协会（NIA）最近成立四个专项工作组为会计领域本地及国际事务提供专业指导与应对措施。
The NIA Faculties will provide technical advice, leadership and evaluate policy issues to assist the NIA in its representation to Government, standard setters and other stakeholders.
NIA专项工作组将为其向政府、政策制定者和股东代表报告中提供专业技术建议、指导与政策评析支持。
The four faculties will specialise in the areas of; accounting education, small business, taxation and the public sector. These will be joined over the coming months by three additional faculties specialising in; accounting regulation, financial services and corporate governance.
新成立的四个专项工作组的专业支持覆盖以下领域：会计教育、小规模企业、税务以及政府资助企事业。在未来数月内还会增设三个工作组，覆盖会计法规、金融服务与企业治理三个领域。
NIA chief executive officer Roger Cotton said that this was a fantastic initiative that would allow the NIA to remain abreast of challenges as they arose in the profession. “The faculties are chaired by leaders in their chosen field of expertise and will be supported by between four and six eminent professionals from each area.“There is no doubt that accounting professionals confront regular changes to the industry that include the introduction of international accounting standards, changes in superannuation laws and ongoing reform to the tax system,” he said. “I see these faculties as groups that will provide specialist information and direction to ensure policy and change is well informed.

“I am pleased to announce and welcome the chairs of our faculties; Prof. Beverley Jackling – Faculty of Accounting Education; Prof. Jean Raar – Faculty of Small Business; Mr Lance Cunningham – Faculty of Taxation; and Prof. Tyrone Carlin Faculty of the Public Sector,” Mr Cotton said.

Each faculty chair will be invited to serve a three year term.

The first four faculties will meet this month.
