NIA has been formally recognised by the Securities and Investment Institute in the United Kingdom. The Securities & Investment Institute is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK. Formed as the “Securities Institute” in 1992 by the members of the London Stock Exchange the Institute changed its name in November 2004.Today the Institute is the leading and progressive examining, training and membership body for the securities and investment industry (www.sii.org.uk http://www.sii.org.uk/).

This means any PNA/FPNA will be eligible for full membership (MSI) of the Securities and Investment Institute in the UK; Associates will be eligible for affiliate membership (ASI). This is good news and demonstrates the growing global presence of the NIA.

We are in the process of developing a strategy to communicate this to members; however it augurs well for the growing global presence of the NIA and building the value proposition of the NIA membership. It should also assist us in the US and Asia. The only other Australian body recognised to date is the ICAA.
